Nipah Mall, Makassar (May 23, 2025) – Sexual violence is becoming an increasingly alarming issue in the city of Makassar. As a response to this situation, Project Baik organized a Talk Show and Public Campaign titled “Makassar Sexual Violence Emergency,” involving various stakeholders and community leaders.

The Prevention and Handling of Violence Task Force (Satgas PPK) of Hasanuddin University participated in this event through the presence of Prof. Dr. Ir. Mardiana Ethrawaty Fachri, M.Si., Deputy Chair of the Unhas PPK Task Force, who served as a speaker in the talk show session.

The event took place at the BikinBikin Creative Hub, Nipah Mall, Makassar, and was officially opened by the Deputy Mayor of Makassar, Hj. Aliyah Mustika Ilham, S.E., M.A.P. The opening ceremony included the signing of a public petition as a collective commitment to strengthen efforts in preventing and addressing sexual violence in Makassar.

During the talk show, Prof. Mardiana emphasized the importance of involving all layers of society, including higher education institutions, in building collective awareness and providing safe and supportive spaces for survivors of sexual violence. She also elaborated on the strategic role of the Unhas PPK Task Force in implementing the mandate of the Ministry of Education Regulation (Permendikbudristek) and Unhas’s commitment to developing a responsive system for gender-based violence both on and around campus.

This event served as a momentum to expand cross-sector collaboration networks and strengthen inter-agency cooperation in the mission to make Makassar a city that is safe and free from sexual violence.
