Hasanuddin University, Makassar (May 21, 2025) – Violence in higher education institutions remains a serious issue requiring urgent attention. As part of its commitment to strengthening the system for preventing and handling violence, the Prevention and Handling of Violence Task Force (Satgas PPK) of Hasanuddin University held a soft launching event for its Secretariat Room on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

The event was officially opened by the Vice-Rector for Human Resources, Alumni, and Information Systems at Hasanuddin University, who also serves as the Chair of the Unhas PPK Task Force, Prof. Dr. Farida Patittingi, S.H., M.Hum. In her opening remarks, she emphasized the importance of strengthening services at the university level as a tangible implementation of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Regulation (Permendikbudristek) Number 55 of 2024 on the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education.

The Satgas PPK Unhas Secretariat Room was initiated as a central hub for complaints, education, and coordination services. It will serve as the focal point for the Task Force’s various activities, both preventive and responsive. The room is designed to bring services closer to the entire academic community of Hasanuddin University, in the effort to create a safe, inclusive, and violence-free campus environment—free from sexual violence, bullying, and discrimination.

The establishment of this secretariat room is a strategic step toward supporting the creation of a campus ecosystem that is responsive to violence and aligned with the spirit of fostering a dignified and conducive learning environment. Moving forward, the room will function as a space for educational activities, consultation services, and follow-up actions for cases occurring within the university.

Through this inauguration, the Unhas PPK Task Force hopes all campus stakeholders will work in synergy to build a campus culture that is safe, healthy, and respectful of the human rights of every university member, in line with the values upheld by Permendikbudristek No. 55 of 2024.
